The mind in itself is a wonderful tool

  1. Love, joy, and peace cannot flourish until you have freed yourself from mind dominance.

  2. Life is now. There was never a time when your life was not now, nor will there ever be.

  3. Suffering has a noble purpose: the evolution of consciousness and the burning up of the ego.

  4. Every complaint is a little story the mind makes up that you completely believe in.

  5. When you are present, you can allow the mind to be as it is without getting entangled in it. The mind in itself is a wonderful tool. Dysfunction sets in when you seek your self in it and mistake it for who you are.

  6. Love, joy, and peace cannot flourish until you have freed yourself from mind dominance.

  7. Defining yourself through thought is limiting yourself.

  8. Nothing out there will ever satisfy you except temporarily and superficially, but you may need to experience many disappointments before you realize that truth.

  9. As far as inner transformation is concerned, there is nothing you can do about it. You cannot transform yourself, and you certainly cannot transform your partner or anybody else. All you can do is create a space for transformation to happen, for grace and love to enter.

  10. As long as the ego runs your life, most of your thoughts, emotions, and actions arise from desire and fear. In relationships you then either want or fear something from the other person.

  11. You do not become good by trying to be good, but by finding the goodness that is already within you, and allowing that goodness to emerge. But it can only emerge if something fundamental changes in your state of consciousness.

  12. Awareness is the power that is concealed within the present moment. … The ultimate purpose of human existence, which is to say, your purpose, is to bring that power into this world.
