Sai Baba

  1. God is love, live in love.

  2. Do not get attached to worldly things and pursuits. Be in the world, but do not let the world be in you.

  3. Do not crave for recognition and respect from others; crave rather for winning grace from the Lord.

  4. The mind sees separateness, LOVE sees unity.

  5. Follow the Master, face the devil, fight to the end, finish the game.

  6. In the innermost recess of your heart there is a reservoir of peace where you must take refuge.

  7. What is the unmistakable mark of a wise man? It is Love, Love for all humanity.

  8. When you do not know, confess that you do not know; if you pretend to know and try to cover up ignorance, it is very dangerous, especially to the spiritual aspirant.

  9. THE Lord is closest to you. He is the Mother, Father, Teacher, Friend, Guide and Guardian. Call on Him and He responds immediately. From dawn to dusk, spend every minute in His company.

  10. God alone is eternal; man is a momentary flash, a tiny wave that rises and falls. So, fill yourselves with vast thoughts, magnificent ideas, indefinable splendour, by reciting the names of God, names that describe HIM to your receptive Consciousness. That is the main discipline for this Age.

  11. Silence is the only language of the realized. Practice moderation in speech. That will help you in many ways. It will develop Prema (love), for most misunderstandings and factions arise out of carelessly spoken words. When the foot slips, the wound can be healed; but when the tongue slips, the wound it causes in the heart of another will fester for life. The tongue is liable to four big errors: uttering falsehood, scandalizing, finding fault with others, and excessive speech. All these have to be avoided if there is to be Shanthi (peace) for the individual as well as for society.
